Danske helte uddeler flere “bøllebank”
Endelig lidt patriotisk svung fra Berlingske Tidende
De danske kampvogne, der for nylig ankom som forstærkning til den danske kampgruppe i Helmandprovinsen, blev sidst på lørdagen indsat med deres kanoner og tårngeværer i nedkæmpelse af Talebanstillinger i den såkaldte grønne zone i Øvre Gereshk dalen.
Her er et infanterikompagni fra Livgarden indsat for langsomt at drive Taleban ud af dalen og væk fra Gerehsk by.
Ifølge chefen for de danske soldater, oberst Kim Kristensen, blev en dansk enhed på aktiv patruljering mod Taleban angrebet, og de danske kampvogne blev med deres langtrækkende kanoner indsat og Talebanangrebet tilbagevist.
Overskriften referer til Operation Bøllebank, hvor danske panserstyrker 29. april 1994 nedkæmpede serbiske styrker. Dengang hed det
Eskadronchef Carsten Rasmussen var ikke i ét sekund i tvivl om, at de danske kampvogne var nødt til at svare igen hvis de skulle overleve denne aften.Han fortæller: “Da vi blev beskudt med panserværnsmissiler, tænkte jeg: “Nu kan det være nok”, og beordrede kampvognene til at beskyde missilstillingen”. Tilsyneladende på samme tidspunkt vurderer Møller situationen og når til samme resultat.
Han giver ordren til Carsten og 2. deling oppe i Saraci: “Nedkæmp panserværnsstillingerne”. Det står dermed ikke helt klart om Carsten reelt – og helt legitimt som rent selvforsvar – allerede var kommet Møller i forkøbet ved at åbne ild, eller om Carsten bare fulgte oberstløjtnantens ordre og simpelthen videregav den. Uanset, der blev nu afgivet koncentreret ild mod fjenden, og Erik Kirks 2. deling i Saraci nedkæmpede på stor afstand de bunkers som havde affyret panserværnsvåbene, men ilden viste sig at fortsætte fra andre stillinger.
