Самурай

Самурай (Samurai) refers to the member of the Japanese warrior class that emerged in the late 12th century and flourished until the 19th century. Samurai were known for their adherence to the code of Bushido, which emphasized virtues such as loyalty, honor, and discipline. They were skilled in various forms of combat, particularly in the use of the katana, a traditional Japanese sword. Besides their martial prowess, samurai also held positions of power and influence within the feudal system of Japan, often serving as military retainers to powerful lords (daimyō) and playing significant roles in governance and culture. The samurai’s legacy remains a symbol of martial honor and discipline in Japanese history.
