Football

Football, often referred to as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver and pass the ball, but they can also use other parts of their bodies, except for their hands and arms, which are restricted to the goalkeepers within their penalty area.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game. The sport is known for its global popularity, diverse playing styles, and significant cultural impact. Major international competitions, like the FIFA World Cup, showcase its worldwide appeal. The game is played at both amateur and professional levels, with leagues and clubs existing in nearly every part of the world. Football is recognized for its ability to bring people together, promote teamwork, and foster athletic skill.
