Faklen og det intellektuelle kollaps

Postmodernisme, islam, venstrefløjen — Drokles on July 3, 2007 at 8:48 am

For nogen uanset politisk observans, blev Faklen engang anset for et intellektuelt tidsskrift. Dette er ganske uretfærdigt da Faklen skrives af meget dumme mennesker, der grundlæggende ikke forstår en skid. Et eksempel er den seneste og meget gennemarbejde postering på Faklen.dk, hvor man prøver at gøre op med Dansk Folkepartis Søren Espersens kronik i Jyllands-Posten d. 26/6 og fejler pinagtigt fælt.

Forfatteren er ingen ringere end Rune Engelbrecht Larsen der først motiverer sit objekt, Søren Espersen og Dansk Folkeparti.

Partiet er i krise efter en lang række vanskeligheder og vigende opinionsundersøgelser, så noget må gøres, og det første kort i kampagneposen er ikke overraskende en radikalisering af kampagnen mod muslimerne.

Når en politiker skriver noget er det kun for at skaffe sig vælgere. Det er altså en total nonsens-præmis der bliver bragt på banen og den ledsages ikke af nogle oppinions-tal, som der heller ikke gøres rede for den logik at en kampagne mod muslimerne i sig selv er en automatisk stemmesluger (og hvis det er hvor er den ikke lanceret tidligere?). Men så kommer han til sagens kerne, afvisningen af den logik, som Søren Espersen repræsenterer

Det vigtige for Espersen er, at islam ikke “bare” er en tro, men “politik”, hvilket gør det til et fikst og firkantet kasse-system at operere inden for, men i virkelighedens verden naturligvis er en umulig restriktiv opdeling for enhver religions vedkommende.

Alt er umuligt i virkelighedens verden, hvis det indebærer kritik af islam. Det er fundamentet for Rune Engelbrechts logik og det danner den gundlæggende kritik af Espersens kronik. Rune Engelbrecht udtrykker det klarest da han i et angreb på Winston Churchill, som jeg vender tilbage til, siger; “Udsagnet er lige så unuanceret, som det er virkelighedsfjernt, men det er naturligvis en generaliserende holdning til islam, som også passer Espersen godt i det 21. århundrede.“. Udsagn kan jo altid nuanceres (bortset fra matematiske), det ligger i deres natur, men det er denne form for alibi-analyse i den postmoderne diciplin, der har gjort Rune Engelbrecht til, hvad han er idag.

Beskyldningen mod Søren Espersen for kassetænkning virker helt ude i hampen da Engelbrecht selv er idehistoriker og således selv må have benyttet sig af kasser til at skille de forskellige ideer og perioder.

Derefter fordrejer han i afsnittet Sondring Mellem Religion og Politik Espersens påstand, at der ikke forskel på islam og islamisme. Espersens argument er, at da islam er et system der omfatter hele samfundets indretning, giver det ikke mening at have et særskilt begreb om politisk islam, islamisme, som en anomali der tilfældigt er klistret på en ellers åndelig tro. Engelbrecht slår fast

Der er ingen religion, der ikke også har samfundsimplikationer og derfor også er politisk, og der er ingen troende, der kan adskille sine holdninger hermetisk fra sin religion.

Efterfulgt af de sædvanlige eksempler med kristne abortmodstandere og noget med bomber. Men læs igen ordet samfunds-implikationer. Der er jo ikke bare tale om implikationer. Alt har selvfølgelig implikationer, så det er Rune Engelbrecht Larsen selv, der ikke siger noget som helst meningsfyldt. Man kan skelne mellem feks. en kortklub og Socialistisk Folkeparti. Kortklubben har politiske implikationer, ved sin eksistens at legitimere spil, hvis nytte i samfundet, der kan være delte meninger om, mens Socialistisk Folkparti er direkte politisk i sit væsen på grund af sit forsæt og sit målrettede virke. Espersen slår fast at islam er politisk. Det er et retorisk kneb af den billige slags Rune Engelbrecht der benytter og det er ikke det eneste. Rune Engelbrecht er idehistoriker.

Og her nægter adskillige af de mest radikale islam-kritikere at se i øjnene, at muslimer er forskellige og motiveres til forskellige handlinger, fordi de forstår religionen forskelligt.

Igen, Rune Engelbrecht er idehistoriker. Man skulle derfor kunne forvente, at han kan skelne mennesket fra religionen eller ideologien. Det er nemlig rigtigt at mennesker er forskellige og derfor også ser verden forskelligt, men det ændrer ikke ved islams essens. Der er en grundtekst der hævder den absolutte sandhed over alle aspekter ved menneskets liv og samfund. Alt der falder uden for denne sandhed er kættersk og skal bekriges med sværdet (eller bomben).

Og Rune Engelbrecht angriber så i afsnittene Religionsvidenskabelige “Autoriteter” Hirsi Ali og Blixen og “Autoriteten” Churchill, hvad han mener er Søren Espersens sandhedsvidner, for deres autoritet på området islam og det totalitære. Meningen med at frembringe Hirsi Ali, Blixen og Chuchill er for Espersen selvfølgelig til dels at legitimere sine egne synspunkter. Men det er også meningen - og meget vigtigere - at gøre Espersen klare logik (som Engelbrecht håner) ukontroversiel. En mand som Espersen afskrives ofte på forhånd som radikal (i ordets egentlige betydning), hvilket for mange derfor betyder, at alt, hvad han siger er radikalt og derfor ikke værd at lytte til. Hirsi Ali, Blixen og Churchill har for mange den etos som de samme mennesker mener Espersen mangler og Espersen afmonterer altså så at sige sin egen farlighed.

1) Espersen: “Forfatteren Ayaan Hirsi Ali skelner ikke [mellem islam og islamisme].”

Og? Fortæller dét noget om noget? Man kunne svare som modargument: “Religionsforskeren Jørgen Bæk Simonsen skelner.”

Ja det fortæller fanden galme meget fordi uanset hvad den meget ligegyldige personage Rune Engelbrecht Larsen, der er idehistoriker, ellers mener så er Hirsi Ali en autoritet og det uden ironiske citationstegn. Hun har ikke blot oplevet det islamiske samfund og logik på sin egen krop, hun har også studeret den og frigjort sig fra dens åg. Hvad fanden har velfærdsforbrugeren Rune Engelbrecht Larsen præsteret?

Jørgen Bæk Simonsen, som autoritet, kan man derimod stille store spørgsmålstegn ved, hvad også stadigt flere gør. I øvrigt erkender Jørgen Bæk Simonsen i sit tarvelige skrift Hvad Er Islam, at islam er et (læs ÉT) system, der bestemmer samfundets indretning og således er det en politisk religion og det er netop Espersens argument for at opgive ordet islamisme. Det går igen i det andet “sandhedsvidne” Blixen

2) Espersen: “For Karen Blixen, som kendte islam, var der heller ingen skelnen.

“Udsagnet er meningsløst i denne sammenhæng: Hun kendte slet ikke til begrebet “islamisme”.Espersen forklarer så indirekte via Blixen, hvad islamisme tilsyneladende er i hans optik: “Det var selve religionen islam, hun [Blixen] sidestillede med nazismen.”"Islamisme” er altså “nazisme”?

Det er rigtigt at udsagnet om at Blixen ikke skelnede mellem islam og islamisme til dels er meningsløst fordi Blixen ikke kendte begrebet islamisme, men deri ligger der jo alligevel en pointe. Blixen sidestiller ikke islamisme med nazisme, hun sidestiller islam med nazisme. Det gør hun fordi hun i nazismens essens ser de totalitære træk der kendetegner islam. Det nyligt opfunde ord islamisme er altså overflødigt for at forstå det totalitære. Espersen skriver bare ikke særlig godt og er måske lidt sjusket, hvad jeg ikke skal klandre ham for (og som jeg også her påpeget i posteringen Sejrherren Krarup IV, der blev døbt således for at give min lille “serie” numerisk vægt, hvori jeg mener, at Espersen til tider sjuskede stil skyldes, at han befinder sig midt i et erkendelses-skred). Men han har fuldkommen ret i modsætning til den mere velformulerede Rune Engelbrecht Larsen (man kan ane lærerens “fin orden” i den lille Rune Engelbrechts skoleopgaver), der bare vrøvler.

Eller også manipulerer Engelbrecht bevidst for, hvor Espersen bruger ordet “sidestiller” i “Det var selve religionen islam, hun sidestillede med nazismen” tilfører Engelbrecht på Espersens vegne “er” i ““Islamisme” er altså “nazisme”?“. Ordet “sidestille”, der understreger det totalitære lighedstræk i de to ideologier falder ud med en påstand om at Espersen, forrædderisk mod Blixen, siger at det ene er en tro kopi af det andet.

Så angribes ingen ringere end Winston Churchill, som autoritet, igen i citationstegn. Churchill! En mand der har indskrevet sig i verdenshistorien netop fordi han kunne se den totalitære fare nazismen udgjorde mod den frie verden og det på baggrund af hans kendskab til bl.a. islam. Spørgsmålet er snarere hvilken autoritet lusepusteren og nul-bon’en Rune Engelbrecht Larsen er?

Rune Engelbrecht forsøger at trække Churchill gennem sølet ved at fremdrage andre og mere uheldige citater fra Churchill, en af den frie verdens helt store ledere gennem tiderne. I et, i øvrigt ganske berømt et, af citaterne fra 1927 roser Churchill den fascistiske leder Mussolini. På det tidspunk var Churchill finansmister (1924 til 1929) og advarede mod, hvad han så som den største trussel mod England, fremvæksten af kommunismen, der havde fået vind i sejlene, bl.a. på grund af Churchills egen fejlslagne økonomiske politik. Citatet er da på sin vis lidt beskæmmende, men altså herregud! For en realpolitiker, der søger det mindste onde, ikke mere end et kuriosum, som det der gamle Poul Schlütter citat DR2 programmet DDR2 åbnede med, hvor Schütter skamroser DDR for de præstationer DDR har opnået økonomisk, kulturelt og samfundsmæssigt. At bruge det til at kritisere Schlütters fast-kronekurs er ligeledes absurd. Som det også er absurd at kritisere Rune Engelbrechts analyse fordi han i sin tid ikke forstod Pædofilforeningens motiver (da pædofili er et meget følelsesladet emne, vil jeg understrege at det sidste skal læses og forstås med allerstørste varsomhed. Engelbrecht forsvarede nogle generelle principper på, hvad jeg mener var den forkerte baggrund, men han forsvarede IKKE pædofili!).

Derefter indvender Rune Engelbrecht Larsen at Espersen indrager imamernes opfordring til at stemme på Asmaa Abdol Hamid fordi hun er muslim.

Ja, selvfølgelig stemmer nogle imamer på hende, fordi hun er muslim. Og?Andre muslimer stemmer på Naser Khader. Atter andre stemmer på Kamal Qureshi, og atter andre stemmer på kandidater, der hverken er muslimer eller har muslimsk baggrund.

Ligesom der er kristne, der stemmer på Kristendemokraterne, fordi det er et eksplicit kristent parti, og der er kristne, der stemmer på Margrethe Auken eller Søren Krarup, fordi de er teologer, som de pågældende vælgere finder i overensstemmelse med deres egen trosudlægning. Selvfølgelig er der da det.

Igen manipulerer Engelbrecht. Espersen brokker sig ikke over at imamerne selv stemmer på hende, men at de opfordrer menighederne til at stemme på hende og det ved idehistorikeren nok godt er noget ganske andet.

Espersens pointe er at fremhæve, at hans analyse af islam som politisk ideologi i sin essens er reel og virker i dagens Danmark. Imamerne taler ikke for døve ører og deres kendskab til islam er absolut autoritativ i modsætning til Engelbrechts relativisme, der kun har skaffet ham pæne karakterer og betinget ros fra lærerne i et langt uddannelsesforløb.

Derfor bliver det ufrivilligt komisk når Engelbrecht, der i øvrigt er idehistoriker siger; “Men Espersen & Co. nægter kategorisk at lade muslimer fortolke islam.” for det er jo netop hvad Espesen gør og som Engelbrecht så også harcelerer over umiddelbart efter. Espersen påpeger nemlig at islamiske samfund altid ender i tyrani og som eksempel bruger Espersen et land midt i den process på vej mod islamisk styre, nemlig Nigeria

Nu springer Espersen behændigt fra Asmaa fra Odense til muslimer i Nigeria. Igen skal vi altså forstå, at det hele er ét fedt.

Her ændres straffeloven i takt med islams fremmarch, bemærker han. Er det så bevist, at vi lige så godt kan kaste islam og islamisme i samme gryde? At Asmaa, Nigeria, wahabisme, ayatollaher, Osama bin Laden, medlemmer af Hamas og Fatah, shiaer og sunnier osv. er ét og det samme?

Espersen taler om islam og Engelbrecht, der er idehistoriker, vidste du det?, taler om forskellige mennesker. De islamiske stater er ikke ens men variationer over det sammme “fedt” som de kommunistiske stater var forskellige variationer over det samme fedt og husk at Engelbrecht er idehistoriker. En syrisk pige sagde til mig, at hvor islam går ind går hjernen ud. Men argumentet fra Engelbrecht bruges en sidste gang i, hvad han mener er den syvende belastende indvending mod Espersen

7) Som kronen på værket kommer så afslutningsvist endnu en gammel traver fra Espersens hånd: Mange af de lande, hvor islam spiller en fremtrædende politisk rolle, er udemokratiske og totalitære. Ingen modsigelse dér.

Og sådan har det i øvrigt været i 95 procent af den del af verden og verdenshistorien, hvor kristendommen har spillet den fremtrædende rolle. Og i store dele af islams historie har lande med islam som dominerende religion været mere tolerante og rigere end andre lande med kristendommen som dominerende religion.

Det sidste vælger jeg at overhøre her for det er en længere debat om historie. Islam er i sin essens totalitær og det ændrer intet at man kan påpege totalitære styreformer andre steder. Det er et komplet idiotisk argument.

Det der er spørgsmålet er ikke hvorfor man i uoplyste tider har handlet som man har gjort, men hvorfor den islamiske verden, i den absolut mest oplyste tid Verden nogensinde har set, voldeligt insisterer på at henslæbe en tilværelse i totalt mørke. Andre kulturer kan jo se lyset.

Men det magter man ikke som relativist. Der kan man komme med “….men kendsgerningen er, at enhver forståelse af en tekst implicerer en fortolkning.” og se ganske bort fra, at enhver tekst bærer en mening, der prøver at gøre sig forståelig for læseren. Det er jo derfor bon-hovedet Engelbrecht selv meddeler sig i - en tekst! Oven i købet en tekst der hævder at være den rette læsning af en anden tekst. Hvis Engelbrechts eget udsagn, som vi jo kan fortolke som vi vil, skal give mening spilder han sin tid.

Engelbrechts verden står for fald. Meningen med ordet islamisme er en retræte for apologeterne, der ikke kan holde en argumentation, der hævder, at der ikke er forbindelse mellem islam og terror, undertrykkelse af kvinder, grusomme samfund osv. og derfor bruger en afart der mest skyldes få unge mænds vildfarelse. Derpå håber man så istedet, at kunne starte en diskussion om psykologi og sociale forhold, stigmatisering og ekskludering og manglende offentlige tilbud i allerede svulmende velfærdsstater, som grund for de voldsomme begivenheder vi ser overalt i den muslimske verden og også her i den frie verden. Men det er for sent. Forbindelsen er der og den bliver dag for dag mere tydelig. Diskusionen ændrer præmis og du ved ikke hvorfor, gør du? idehistoriker Engelbrecht!

    Et hovedpoeng for denne Engelbrecht er tydeligvis den opplagte sannhet at forskjellige muslimer har forskjellige oppfatninger av hva islam er. Til dette fristes man å bare svare som ham: “Og?” Det samme kan med full rett hevdes om fascistene og nazistene i 30- og 40-tallet - det forhindret ikke disse ideologiene i å forårsake et blodig helvete. Hvis denne Engelbrecht hadde hatt noen utdannelse, f.eks. i idéhistorie, så ville han ha insett dette.

    Poenget er at praktisk talt overalt hvor islam har eller vinner stor utbredelse, så er det den fundamentalistiske islam som styrer samfunnet - eller man har en voldelig konflikt/borgerkrig gående med en stor fraksjon muslimer som gjerne vil ha det slik. Det hjelper altså i den virkelige verden INTET at der faktisk finnes muslimer som ikke ønsker det - fordi de er i praksis aldri mange eller sterke nok til å forhindre at samfunnet blir dysfunksjonelt på grunn av stasis og/eller indre konflikt.

    Et annet poeng er jo ganske enkelt at ingen, ingen andre enn muslimer ønsker et samfunn innrettet etter islam. Hvis islamisme var en ideologi uavhengig av islam, ville den ha hatt tilhengere blant ikke-muslimer.

  7. Jeg var slet ikke klar over, hvad ad hominem betød, men jeg kan forstå at det ikke er noget godt, så nu har jeg slået det op.

    Principielt er jeg enig med dig Jacob, men mit monomane fokus på Rune Engelbrechts uddannelse i min postering er ment i den satiriske ånd, ThomasL gør opmærksom på. Jeg mener nemlig, at Rune Engelbrecht svigter rent fagligt og så synes jeg også, at det var en komisk effekt at have en repetition hele vejen gennem teksten. Men det er jo smag og behag. Der er ikke gået nogen forfatter tabt i mig.

  8. Engelbrechts indlæg er det rene sofisteri. Et forsøg på at bortforklare, at islam ikke blot er en religion men også en gudgivet instruktion i, hvor det dennesidige samfund skal indrettes.
    Man kommer ikke uden om essentialisme i religion. Sam Harris er inde på det samme i “Troens fallit”: Jo mere fanatisk tilhænger af jain-ismen, du er, jo mere pacifistisk og modstander af drab bliver du. Jo mere, du tager Jesu budskab alvorligt, jo mere vender du den anden kind til. Jo tættere, du læser Koranen og lyder Muhammeds/Allahs bud, jo mere føler du dig i din gode ret til at dræbe de vantro, der afviser Allahs budskab; ja, du opfordres direkte til det.
    Alle religioner rummer en kerne af noget essentielt, noget der er unikt for netop den tro. At de troendes praksis så - på godt og ondt - gennem århundreder og årtusinder har været anderledes, ændrer ikke ved det essentielles gyldighed.
    Problemet med islam er netop, at en ny, uddannet klasse af unge mennesker for første gang læser Koranen bogstaveligt (og det skal en god muslim jo, den er jo Allahs budskab ord til anden), og ikke bare “lever” den i henhold til gamle traditioner.
    Man efterlyser en “reformation” hos islam. Den lutherske reformation bestod i, at Luther og hans tilhængere nu læste “teksten” og tolkede den uafhængigt af den katolske kirkes århundredegamle “tradionelle” floromvikliner.
    Hvad vi ser nu, er derfor i virkeligheden islams “reformation”: En læsning af den originale tekst og et forsøg på at “leve den ud”, akkurat som lutheranismen var et forsøg på at læse bibelens originale tekst og “leve den ud”.
    De tilsyneladende vanvittige “islamister” er ikke udtryk for en afvigelse fra islam men derimod en tilbagevenden til “det essentielle”.
    Man undrer sig over, at Engelbrecht ikke kan gennemskue dette - det er jo åbenlyst for enhver, der bare gider sætte sig ned og læse Koranen og efterfølgende nogle af de budskaber, “islamisterne” kommer med. De er ganske i overensstemmelse med Koranens ord.
    Man kan undre sig over Engelbrechts og andre “progressive” intellektuelles blindhed. Jeg nægter at tro, at det er fordi man har en eller anden skjult sympati for “budskabet” (selv om man ikke kan udelukke dette).
