Det kan være skræmmende at bevæge sig ind i sindet på de grønne. Forleden refererede jeg til det synspunkt at Djengis Khans massemord på millioner af mennesker gavnede klimaet ved at ændre CO2 regnskabet. Her var et tydeligt eksempel på nogle der var gået længere ind i sindet, enddog forbi katten med de onde øjne. På den grønne blog Grist erklærer man sig uenig i den historiske udlægning af Khans økologikse bedrifter ved at gå dybere ind, helt ind i sindet

Yes sir. Djengis Khans massemorderiske heltegerning overskygges af hans forplatningforbrydelser. Man kunne her passende citere nu salig Tøger Seidenfaden: “Det er altså befolkningen, der er problemet!” Han var til tider også ramt af en førerløs vogn med døde dyr.

  2. De kunne svare, at det er naturen vi lever af. Men hvad ved jeg om hvad de konkret vil svare stillet over for problematikken…

  3. Vi lever ikke af naturen, men med den. Vi har ændret naturen i stor grad og de planter og dyr der giver os mad på bordet er ikke “naturlige” og har ikke været det i mange herrens år. Vel en glidende overgang mod mere forædlede og selekterede organismer sinde bondestenalderen.

    Vi skal selvfølgelig passe på naturen, dels så vores forædlede levebrødsorganismer kan leve der, men også for dets egen skyld, da der kan være nye kilder for levebrødsorganismer og fordi vi ikke lever totalt frigjort fra naturen - uden dog at leve af den.

    Men hvad er den eksakte værdi af at bevare pandaerne? jeg ved det ikke. Hvaler kan klare sig hvis man ikke driver rovdrift på dem, så de har vel en eksistensberettigelse, men pandaer? Selv under de mest gunstige vilkår kan de ikke formås til at formere sig. det kan jo være det er n evolutionær blindgyde, en del af evolutionen er jo også at dyr uddør.

  4. Jeg lever af naturen. Synes jeg.
    Jeg lever i dag af korns gryn, rosiner, nødder, mælk, brød, smør, ris, champigons, saft af mango, kartofler, gulerødder, og der er nok noget jeg har glemt i dagens indtag. Jeg lever af naturen omend få af produkterne er de samme som 1906 udgaven af bønnen, jeg kunne så flere af i haven når det er varmere, set på http://www.organiccatalogue.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_22_44_70&products_id=315

  5. Det er afint hvis du kan leve af naturen Peter. Hvad skal de 90-95% af jordens befolkning der ikke kan leve af vilde frugter, røøder og bær samt det man kan skyde i skovene så leve af?

    En 100 år gammel bønne? Hvordan mon dens vilde fætter så ud?

  6. Are organic yields lower?

    Based on 154 growing seasons’ worth of data on various crops, organic crops yielded 95% of crops grown under conventional, high-input conditions (Liebhardt, B. Get the facts straight: organic agriculture yields are good. OFRF Information Bulletin #10, Summer.). This was by using organic farming methods developed and refined by years of grower experience, independent of the billions of dollars of support provided the agrichemical industries through USDA and the land grant system. If USDA would increase the small proportion of its research funds currently directed toward optimizing organic farming practices, organic has the potential to produce yields fully matching or surpassing those of conventional crops. Growers who go through the 3-year transition period from conventional to organic management usually experience an initial decrease in yields, until soil microbes are re-established and nutrient cycling is in place, at which point yields return to previous levels.
